Mary E. Marvets (1925-2005)

WATERLOO — Mary Elizabeth Marvets, 79, of Waterloo, died Sunday, June 12, at USA Healthcare, Clarion. She was born July 5, 1925, in Waterloo, daughter of Wiggo R. and Christina Larsen Jensen. She married Wayne Marvets on Jan. 6, 1945. On March 9, 1968, she married Delbert Cornell, and they later divorced. She married Virgil L. Marvets on May 28, 1982, in Whittier, Calif. He died July 3, 1986. Mrs. Marvets was employed by the Coca-Cola plant, Hinson Manufacturing Co., and the Kit Kat Klub, all in Waterloo.

Survivors include: two daughters, Judy Greko of Davenport and Rosie Wilson of Evansdale; four sons, Mike (Fran) and Steve A., both of Eagle Grove, Ronnie (Pat) of Waterloo and Jody (Wendy) of Lamont; 36 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; two stepdaughters, Linda Myers and Barb Holmes; and three stepsons, Stan Scott, Virgil Marvets Jr. and Bill Marvets. Preceded in death by: four brothers; four sisters; a grandchild and a great-grandchild. Services: 2 p.m. Thursday at Foust Funeral Home, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, both in Eagle Grove. Friends may call from noon until services Thursday at the funeral home.
