BIGFORK, MT - Former North Dakota and Shelby resident Dorothy (Baker) Sherman, who taught school and according to her family was the first female high school principal in North Dakota, died of natural causes Monday at a Bigfork care center. She was 104. Visitation is 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Johnson Mortuary in Kalispell. Her funeral is 2 p.m. Thursday at Johnson Mortuary Chapel, with burial in C.E. Conrad Cemetery.

Survivors include sons Robert Sherman of Walla Walla, Wash., and Richard Sherman of Bigfork; a daughter, Patricia Green of Yuma City, Calif.; 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Waldo Sherman, in 1988.
