Edward G. Kastler Dies at Woolstock

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon. July 22 for Edward G. Kastler, Woolstock at the Kastler Funeral home in Eagle Grove. Rev Wm. Baddley of State Center, a former Woolstock pastor, officiated. Burial was in the French Cemetery near Woolstock. Vocalist was Miss Mildred Evans, organist was Mrs Clyde Doolittle. Pallbearers were Messers O. H.. Caquelin, Harold Rohrer, William Claude, Everett Meyers, Shield Harmon and Charles Malaise.

Edward G Kastler, son of Mary and George Kastler, was born on April 2, 1901, near Woolstock. Thursday morning. July 20, 1961, he passed away at his home in Woolstock, having attained the age of 60 years 3 months and 18 days. He grew to manhood on the farm and received his schooling in that community. He was baptized as an infant in the French Lutheran Church. He was united in marriage to Miss Virginia Baker on Oct. 20, 1935 and to this union two sons were born. Robert Keith of Webster City and Yale Edward, of Woolstock. Mr Kastler resided in Woolstock and was self employed at trucking and corn shelling. On Feb. 4, 1953 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Hazel Crosby. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Webster City since 1943.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel, two sons, Robert and Yale, two stepdaughters, Mrs. Doris Bauman of Woolstock, Mrs. Deloris Hill of Stanhope, one step son, Robert Crosby of Woolstock, one sister, Odette Kastler of Woolstock, four brothers, Verne Kastler of Webster City, Clarence and Robert and Donald Kastler, all of Woolstock, and five step-grandchildren, Leonard
Bauman, Robert and Belinda Crosby of Woolstock, and Ronald and Craig Hill of Stanhope, and many other relatives and friends. He was a kind and devoted husband and father and will be greatly missed.
