Pioneer Resident Dies Thursday

T. A. Knight, 72, long-time resident of Goldfield suffered a heart attack and passed away at his home Thursday evening. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church with Rev. F. C. Greene officiating. Interment was in the Glenwood cemetery. Pallbearers were Carl and John Schipull, Leo Bartzen. Cliff Olson, George Hawkins and Harry Helgevold.

Thomas Arthur Knight was born at Traer, Tama county, on Nov. 30, 1880, the son of Thomas L. and Hannah E. Knight. At an early age he moved with his parents to a farm north of Goldfield and hd resided in this vicinity ever since. On Jan. 29, 1902, he was united in marriage with Blanche May Rowley. To this union were born two sons, Clyde D. Knight of Des Moines and Gerald Knight of Numa. Thomas Knight was a member of the Methodist church of Goldfield and Fountain City lodge, A.F. & A.M.

Surviving are his wife, Blanche; his sons, Gerald and Clyde; three grandsons, James, Vernon and Rodney; one great-grandson, Stephen; as well as a brother, Jay of Goldfield; two sisters, Margaret of Upland, Calif., and Charlotte of Ada, Minn. In addition he will be missed by a considerable number of nieces nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Fred and Will, three sisters, Mary, Nellie and Celestin and one great-grandson, Barry.

Those attending the services from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Knight and sons of Numa, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Knight nf Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. James Knight and son of Minneapolis, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Albert Robinson of Minneapolis, Mr. and Mrs. George Hoffman of Renwick, Ira and Dewey Miller of Ada, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Homer Eggleson of Delevan, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Richard Knight of Adams, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Adam Cross of Bradgate, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Cross of Dows, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Schroder of Galt, Pearly LaGue of Rowan, Mrs. Millie LaGue of Clear Lake, Mrs. Minnie Anderson of Renwick, Elmer Raleigh and daughter of Kanawha, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Morris of Belmond.
