Former Clarion Priest Dies at Dubuque Tuesday

Funeral services for the Rev. Fr. John M. O'Donnell, formerly of Clarion, who died Tuesday morning at Mercy hospital, Dubuque, will be held at 10:00 a m. Thursday at the Cathedral at Dubuque and at 10:00 a. m. Friday at St. John's Catholic church. Clarion. Burial will be in St. John's cemetery. Clarion. The Rev. Fr. O'Donnell came to the United States following his ordination June 8, 1910, and was the assistant at the Immaculate Conception church at Cedar Rapids for three years He went to Sumner in 1915 for his first pastorate, after which he went to Otter Creek for four years. Then he went to Marion for a few months before coming to Clarion in 1931. He served here until 1947 at which time he retired. He had lived in Dubuque since his retirement. He is survived bv his niece. Miss Lillian O'Donnell of Nevada and a cousin Rev. Ed O'Donnell of Elma. and other relatives in Ireland.
