Lewis Junior Wergeland, the son of Lewis and Anna (Bergeland) Wergeland was born March 9, 1926, near Hardy, Iowa. Lewis passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2007, at USA Healthcare in Clarion at the age of 81 years.

Survivors include his wife Evelyn Wergeland of Eagle Grove; brother, Glenn Wergeland of Humboldt, and brother-in-law, John Carter of Humboldt. Funeral services will be Monday, July 9, 2 p.m. at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove with Pastors Paul Stone and Chris Lang officiating. Memorials may be left to the Evangelical Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or a charity of your choice.

Lewis Junior Wergeland, the son of Lewis and Anna (Bergland) Wergeland was born March 9, 1926, near Hardy, Iowa. He was baptized on May 30, 1926 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hardy and confirmed September 29, 1940 at the Ullensvang Lutheran Church in Thor. Lewis was raised and educated in the area of his birth.

Lewis served in the United States Army following W.W. II. On April 22, 1966, Lewis was united in marriage with Evelyn D. Oliver at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. Lewis drove a tank wagon for W & H Coop for 30 years. He also sold cars for D & B Motors and Christensen Motors. Lewis was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Lewis passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2007, at USA Healthcare in Clarion at the age of 81 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Carrold and sisters, Alyce Brown and Lucille Carter. Survivors include his wife Evelyn Wergeland of Eagle Grove; brother, Glenn Wergeland of Humboldt and brother-in-law, John Carter of Humboldt.

Funeral services will be Monday, July 9, 2:00 p.m. at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove with Pastors Paul Stone and Chris Lang officiating. Visitation is Sunday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Memorials may be left to the Evangelical Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or a charity of your choice.
