BELMOND — Margaret Hilpipre, 95, of Belmond, died Tuesday (Nov. 10, 1998) at the Belmond Health Care Center in Belmond. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Bethany Reformed Church in Belmond, with the Rev. Melvin Voss and the Rev. Herm Gruis officiating. Burial will be in French Cemetery in Woolstock, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Tenold Funeral Home in Belmond and will continue one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church.

Margaret was born on Nov. 22, 1902, in St. Die, France, and came to the United States with her mother and brother when she was 18 years old. She was united in marriage to John Hilpipre, and they farmed in the Woolstock and Blairsburg area. Survivors include three daughters, Yvonne Hofsommer, of DeWitt, Iowa; Marie Erickson, of Dows, Iowa; and Marilyn Pals and her husband, Wayne, of Belmond, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and two sisters.
