EAGLE GROVE — Mona Evans Baretich, of Eagle Grove, died Saturday, June 30, 2007, at Wright Medical Center in Clarion. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 5, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove with a Rosary and Vigil service at 7 p.m.
Mona Evans Baretich, daughter of Guy and Reva (Carter) Evans, was born on June 20, 1930, in Albia, Iowa. She graduated from Centerville Junior College with a degree in teaching. On August 8, 1950, she was united in marriage to William Francis Baretich. Mr. and Mrs. Baretich moved to Eagle Grove in 1972. Mona was involved in many local groups, including Equality Club, Sewing Club and Bookworms, while Bill was high school principal.
Mona Baretich was a loving wife and mother and is survived by her children Mathew Baretich of Ft. Collins, Colo., John Baretich of Camanche, Iowa, David Baretich of Lake Oswego, Ore., and Catherine Edwards of Moberly, Mo. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Albert, Anna, Stephen, Robert, Sean, Daniel, Benjamin, Joshua, Mark and Nathaniel, as well as her sister Ruth Adair of Johnston, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Francis Baretich and her son, Joseph Francis Baretich. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
