Alvina June (Chris) Bush of Denver, CO died June 22. She was born to Edward and Alma Christopher and lived to the age of 88. One of eight children, she was born and raised on a farm in Eagle Grove, IA. She graduated from The American Business Institute in Des Moines and then moved to Washington D.C. Chris worked for the Department of Defense and typed the contracts for the building of the Pentagon. In 1945, she married Charles Bush, who was serving with the Army Corps of Engineers. They lived in Nebraska for several years, while Chuck finished his engineering degree (both became lifetime "Big Red" fans). Subsequently, they moved to Denver, starting their family, and together they began Bush Construction CO. She and Chuck traveled the world together, but their hearts were always in Denver. For 60 years, they were deeply involved in many civic and community endeavors. She was active in the Mile-Hi Opti-Mrs., P.E.O., Sons-of-Norway (Fjelldalen Lodge), More Square II, and Coloradoans for Nebraska, and Messiah Lutheran Church. Chris delighted in her dahlias; she enjoyed playing bridge, sewing and square dancing. She was fascinated with genealogy. She was tirelessly involved in her children's and grandchildren's activities. Chris was admired throughout her life for her animated, vibrant personality, and everyone she met was a friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and sisters, her husband Charles, and an infant son. She is survived by her brother James Roy Christopher, daughter, Jeanette Bush, son, Scott Bush and his wife Sharon, granddaughters Christine Slocum and Julia Bush, grandson Evan Bush, and many other loving family members and friends. Viewing Monday, 3-6 PM at Fairmount Mortuary. Memorial service Tuesday, 11:00 a.m., at Messiah Lutheran Church, 1750 Colorado Blvd. The family suggests donations to Messiah Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
