Services Held for Harland E. Hill

Funeral services for Harland E. Hill, were held at the Clarion Methodist Church March 16, 1968, at 2;00 p. m. with the Rev. Carl Jensen in charge. Interment was at Evergreen Cemetery, and the Eyler Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Hill passed away at the Clarion Memorial Hospital on Thursday, Mar. 14 after two years of illness. He would have been 83 May 20th.

Harland E. Hill, son of Mr. and Mrs. George J. Hill, was born on May 20, 1885 in Grant Township and lived in that community as a farmer until 1953. After being elected to the Wright County Board of Supervisors, he moved to Clarion in 1953 and served on the Board until December 31, 1966. On December 29, 1909 he was united in marriage to Emma Mickelson in a triple wedding ceremony with Mr. and Mrs, Ed Lindsay and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Thompson. He was active in the Wright County Farm Bureau while he was farming. He was a member of the Clarion First Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by two baby sisters and two brothers, Ben and Myron. Surviving are his wife, Emma; one son, Charles E. of Rochester, Minnesota; three grandchildren, Charles A., Rebecca E. and Sally Ann, all of Minneapolis; two brothers, Leroy of Sumner, and Gerald of Aberdeen, S. D.; two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Woodin of Clarion and Mrs. Adelia McBeth of Maxwell; twenty five nieces and nephews, seventy two great nieces and nephews, and twenty four great great nieces and nephews, as well as many other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were nephews.- Max Hill, Dale Hill, Myron E. Hill Jr., Earl Odland Jr., John Woodin and Freeman Gates. Out-of-town relatives attending the Harland E. Hill funeral services on March 16 were Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Hill, Sally and Kebccca of Rochester, Minn., LeRoy G. Hill, Mr. and Mrs. Max Hill, Mrs. Lavonne Hill Treloar, all of Sumner, Mrs. Minnie Hill Weston of Arlington, Mr. and Mrs. Harold McBeth of Maxwell, Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Hill of Aberdeen, S. D., John Woodin of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Bisbing and Mrs. Genevleve Hill Humbert, all of Cedar Falls, Mrs. Forest Olson of Forest City, Mrs. Ullo Schrader of Klester, Minn., Mm. Sybil Mickelson and Mrs. John Tomke of Battle Creek. Others attending were from Rowan, Hampton, Ackley, Marshalltown, Eagle Grove, Belmond and Rochester, Minn.
