SET SERVICES WEDNESDAY FOR JAMES A. HANLEY

Clear Lake - James A. Hanley, 85, 600 2nd Ave. N., died early Sunday morning [March 17, 1963] at a Mason City hospital following an illness. He farmed east of Clear Lake prior to moving to Clear Lake in 1942. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Wilcox Funeral Home, with Mr. J.M. McVicker, pastor of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, officiating. A prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Wilcox Funeral Home. James Albert Hanley was born Jan. 10, 1878, at Atlanta, Ill. the son of William H. and Amanda Austin Hanley. He was married to Poca Vanderpool at Sidney July 11, 1900. They lived successively at New Hampton, Forest City, Mason City and Clear Lake. They also farmed in the Hamburg area. He is survived by his wife, five sons, Guy M., Grants Pass, Ore.; Leonard J., Chicago; Richard W. and Jimmy Jr., Clear Lake, and Robert L., Belmond, Wis., and one daughter, Elizabeth Thurtle, Eagle Grove. Fourteen grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, also survive. Four sisters and one brother preceded him in death.
