Martin Harms, 81, of Belmond, died Tuesday (June 17, 1997) at home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Dugger-Ewing Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Carpenter officiating. Burial will be in the Belmond Cemetery, with military rites by the Belmond Honor Guard. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Dugger Ewing Funeral Home.

Martin Harms was born April 5, 1916, in Latimer. Survivors include his wife, Jennie of Belmond; one daughter, Millie Thompson, Belmond; one son, Dennis Harms, Belmond; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Taus Harms of Belmond; Reno Harms of Garner, and Herman Harms, Forest City. He was preceded in death by his parents and eight brothers and sisters.
