BELMOND - Grace Gretchen Galloway, 92, passed away Tuesday (Aug. 31, 1999) at the Belmond Health Care Center in Belmond. Memorial services for Grace Galloway will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Bethany Reformed Church, Belmond, with the Rev. Herm Gruis officiating. A private family committal service will take place in the Belmond Cemetery. There will be no visitation. The body has been cremated. Dugger Ewing Funeral Home, Belmond, is in charge of arrangements.

Grace, the daughter of George and Tina Frohling Bohning, was born Sept. 12, 1906, near Belmond. She grew up and attended country school in the Belmond area. On June 6, 1931, Grace was united in marriage to Emory Galloway in Fort Dodge. The couple made their home in several Iowa communities, including Oelwein, Cherokee, Strawberry Point and Mason City. They returned to Belmond, where they retired to the Belmond Community Apartments.

Grace is survived by three grandchildren, Steve Galloway, Glen A. Galloway and his wife, Mindy, and Gay E. Berthel, all of Manchester; five great-grandchildren, Shannon Galloway and Megan Rouse, of Van Horne and Ian Galloway, Jake Galloway and Samantha Berthel, of Manchester; three nieces, Gwen Peterson, of Dent, Minn., Barbara Snyder, of Pleasant Hill, and Karon Carpenter, of Onalaska, Wis.; and a sister-in-law, Arlene Bohning, of Belmond. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Tina Bohning; husband, Emory Galloway; son, Gary Galloway, in 1997; two brothers, Andrew and Fredrich Bohning; and one sister, Gay Heginger.
