11/05/1996MASON CITY -- Marguerite M. Fleming, 84, of 627 Rocky Creek Drive, Rochester, Minn., formerly of Mason City, died Sunday (Nov. 3, 1996) at the Woodside Convalescent Center, Rochester, Minn. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with Ronald Graff of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Major Erickson Funeral Home, and until time of services on Wednesday. Memorials may be given to the Marguerite M. Fleming Memorial Fund.
Marguerite M. Fleming was born Sept. 13, 1912, in Wright County, the daughter of Colbert L. and Rose (Creagan) Butterfield. Marguerite attended kindergarten through 11th grade in Wright County. She married Glenn M. Fleming on Nov. 26, 1930, at Belmond. The Flemings moved to New Hampton in 1930 and lived there until 1950. In 1950, they moved to Mason City where Marguerite worked for Clean Towel Service for five years and cooked in the Jefferson Bus Depot for eight years. In 1994, Marguerite moved to Rochester, Minn. She was a former member of the Moose Lodge, a member of the 50's Golden Club and Jehovah's Witnesses. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed story telling.
Survivors include daughters, Darlene Young and her husband, Howard, of Mason City; Ila May Bolson and her husband, Donald, of Rochester, Minn.; Glenice Knutson and her husband, Jarl, of Ashby, Minn.; and Audrey Smith and her husband, Frank, of Melvern, Ark.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters, one grandchild and her husband, Glenn M. Fleming in 1994.
