MASON CITY -- Lenore E. "Lennie" Beach, 70, of 3375 Brandywine Road, died Sunday (July 14, 1996) at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. James Lutheran Church, 1148 Fourth St. S.E., with the Rev. David Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Rest Cemetery, Northwood. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. today at Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., and one hour prior to the services at the church on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to Hospice of North Iowa, North Iowa Mercy Cancer Center or St. James Lutheran Church, in memory of Lenore E. Beach.

Lennie was born May 18, 1926, in Lake Mills, daughter of Oscar and Tilda (Brackey) Anderson. She was married to Walton W. Beach on July 21, 1946, at Salem Lutheran Church, Northwood. Lennie attended Lake Mills Country Schools and graduated from Northwood High School. She and her husband resided in Northwood until they moved to Clarion, Waterloo, Jewell, and eventually settled in Webster City where she raised her family. She relocated for a few years to Greeley, Colo., prior to returning to the Northwood and Mason City area. She worked at Sedars Motors for over 10 years as a business office manager until retiring in 1994. Lennie enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, spending time outdoors and most of all being with her family. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Diane K. Wertz and her husband, Myron, Corona, Calif.; three sons, Wayne A. Beach and his wife, Diane, of San Diego, Calif.; David P. Beach and his wife, Debbie, of Algona, and James W. Beach of Longmont, Colo.; seven grandchildren, Dawn Habhab and her husband, Dean, of Moreno Valley, Calif.; Melanie Derryberry and her fiancee, John Stjernberg, of West Des Moines; Justin and Jamie Beach, both of LaSalle, Colo.; Brittany and Garrett Beach, both of Algona, and Brandon Beach of San Diego, Calif.; two great-grandchildren, Anthony and Cody Habhab of Moreno Valley, Calif.; four sisters, Orean Davison of Mason City; Adeline Flugstad, Albert Lea, Minn.; Theola Chaplin and her husband, Merle, of Iowa Falls, and Lavonne Rushing of Albert Lea, Minn.; one sister-in-law, Millicent Irons of Northwood; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Ernest, Norman, Donald and Tilford Anderson; and three sisters, Bernice Huus, Iolet Richardson and Crystal Butler.
