BELMOND -- Harold E. Schmidt, 88, of Clear Lake, Calif., formerly of Belmond died Wednesday (Aug. 23, 1995) at Clear Lake, Calif. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, 1995) at the Belmond Cemetery, with the Rev. Laurence Garrett from the Belmond United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Tenold Funeral Home, Belmond.

Harold E. Schmidt was born May 22, 1907 in Marion County, Kan. He was a longtime employee of General Mills and Central Soya in Belmond. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Jeanne Tuckfield of Overland Park, Kan., Barbara Rickert and her husband, Kenneth of Clear Lake, Calif.; Carol "Sue" Heginger and her husband, Lyle of Belmond, Iowa; one son, Jim Schmidt and his wife, Sandy of Bullhead City, Ariz.; 18 grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren; and one sister, Edna Wright of Smithsville, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Jessie.
