Joe F. Williamson, 55, of Belmond, passed away Sunday (Oct. 28, 2001) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City. Funeral services for Joe F. Williamson will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Belmond, with Pastor Rod Hopp officiating. Burial will take place in the Belmond Cemetery. Visitation for Joe F. Williamson will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Dugger Ewing Funeral Home in Belmond and one hour prior to services at the church.

Joe F. Williamson, the son of Edward and Victoria Childers was born July 25, 1946, in Etheridge, Tenn. He grew up in Alabama and Michigan and graduated from Battle Creek Central in 1964. Joe was united in marriage to Jackie Drake on Sept. 18, 1965, at Battle Creek, Mich. They made their home in Battle Creek until 1984 when they moved to Belmond. Joe started working at Eatons in 1964. He moved to Belmond in 1984 where he continued to work for Eatons as a raw materials coordinator and material scheduler. Joe would have completed 37 years with the company on October 19, 2001. Joe loved his grandkids and was most proud to become "Grampa". He enjoyed hunting, playing softball and bowling. Joe also belonged to the Rowan Lions Club and the Belmond Country Club.

Joe is survived by his wife, Jackie, of Belmond; one daughter, Stacy Rooney and her husband, Dave, of Urbana; one son, Jeff Williamson and his wife, Jessica, of Belmond; one half- brother, Jim Ford, of Homestead, Fla.; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Dugger Ewing Funeral Home.
