Dorothy E. Gram, 75, died Friday (Oct. 26, 2001) at the Belmond Medical Center in Belmond. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Belmond. Pastor Mike Druhl will officiate. Inurnment will take place in the Belmond Cemetery. Visitation for Dorothy E. Gram will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Dugger Ewing Funeral Home, 111 Luick Lane S., Belmond, and one hour before the services at the church.

Dorothy E. Gram, the daughter of Clarence and Eva (Steffens) Lindsey, was born Oct. 17, 1926, in Rowan. She grew up in Rowan, where she attended school and graduated in 1944 from Rowan High School. Dorothy was united in marriage to Robert Gram on Feb. 19, 1947, in Rowan. They made their home in the Rowan and Belmond area, where they raised their family. She worked as a housewife and mother. Dorothy also worked as a librarian at the Belmond Public Library for 20 years. Dorothy belonged to United Methodist Church in Belmond, where she was active in the ladies groups. She also belonged to the P.E.O., Progressive Club, United Methodist Women, Regional Library Board and Board Foundation.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Robert, of Belmond; three daughters, Elaine Burton and her husband, Vern, of Lakota, Sally Gordon and her husband, Vern, of Belmond, and Paula Wilmarth and her husband, Lee, of Decorah; two brothers, Merle Lindsey and his wife, Ruth, of Eldora, and Garth Lindsey and his wife, Margaret, of Steamboat Rock; six grandchildren, Angela Pacha and her husband, Seth, Adam and Aimee Gordon and Elizabeth, Melissa and Kevin Wilmarth; and numerous other family and friends.
