Mabel M. Nair Brown, 86, of Belmond, formerly of Ogden; died Monday (Sept. 8, 1997) at the Belmond Health Care Center. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Community United Methodist Church, Ogden, with the Rev. Dana Wimmer officiating. There will be private committal services in Scranton Cemetery, Scranton. There will be no visitation. The body has been cremated. Dugger Ewing Funeral Home, Belmond, is in charge of arrangements. The family requests that memorials may be made in Mabel's name in her memory.

Mabel M. Nair Brown was born March 20, 1911, in Scranton. Survivors include two daughters, Regina Fineran, Belmond, and Sharon Brown, Johnston; one son, Carroll Brown, Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and one brother, Robert Nair, Cumberland, Md. She was preceded in death by her husband, three grandsons, one great-grandson and two brothers.
