BELMOND — Funeral services for Reaka A. Buschmann, 94, of Belmond, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Tenold Funeral Chapel, Belmond, with the Rev. William Kroon officiating. Interment will be in the Immanuel Reformed Church Cemetery, Belmond.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Tenold Funeral Home, Belmond, and one hour prior to services on Friday.

Reaka Albertje Buschmann, the daughter of L.F. and Albertje (Storenborg) Buschmann was born June 18, 1904 in Hancock County near Goodell. She attended Belmond Schools and graduated with the Class of 1925. She attended Hamilton Business College in Mason City and was a secretary for Nissen Packing Plant in Webster City for many years. She later returned to Belmond to help care for her parents and continued to help families care for their loved ones in their homes. She also worked in nursing homes in Belmond. Reaka was a faithful member of the Bethany Reformed Church in Belmond. She died on Monday (Sept. 21, 1998) at the Good Shepherd Health Care Center, in Mason City, where she had resided since April of 1988.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Louise Buschmann, of Belmond; nephew, Paul Buschmann and his wife, Susan, of Platte City, Mo.; and their children, Jonathan, Zackary and Sarah; nephew, Philip Buschmann and his wife, Cyrena, of Sigourney; and their children, Michelle, Aaron and Kyle. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Elzo and Harm; and a sister, Antje, in infancy.
