Mason City (Iowa) Globe GazetteBELMOND -- Harm George Buschmann, 88, of Belmond, died Sunday (Sept. 7, 1997) at the Belmond Community Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Peace Reformed Church, Garner, with the Rev. Robert Grossmann officiating. Burial will be in the Peace Reformed Church Cemetery, Garner. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Tenold Funeral Home, Belmond, and one hour prior to services at the church. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy may direct them to the Harm Buschmann Memorial Fund or to Peace Reformed Church.
Harm George Buschmann, the son of L.F. and Albertje (Storenborg) Buschmann was born Aug. 23, 1909, in Hancock County, near Goodell. He attended Belmond Community Schools and graduated from Iowa Barber College in Des Moines and was a barber in Des Moines. He was united in marriage to Louise Hess on Sept. 20, 1950, in Eldorado Springs, Mo. To this union, two sons were born, Paul George on March 29, 1950, and Philip Joseph on May 20, 1953. Harm was a Northrup King seed corn dealer and a farm manager. He was member of Peace Reformed Church in rural Garner, and was a faithful member for many years, and had served as an Elder in the church.
Survivors include his wife, Louise of Belmond; son, Paul Buschmann and his wife, Susan, of Platte City, Mo., and their children, Jonathan, Zachary and Sarah; son, Philip Buschmann and his wife, Cyrena, of Sigourney, and their children, Michelle, Aaron and Kyle; sister, Reaka Buschmann of the Good Shepherd Home in Mason City; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, the Rev. Elzo Buschmann; and a sister, Antje, in infancy.
