Gerald "Ed" Banning, 71, died Friday (Feb. 7, 1997) at the Belmond Community Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. James Carpenter officiating. Burial will be in the Belmond Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. today at the Dugger Ewing Funeral Home, and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.

Gerald "Ed" Banning was born Jan. 18, 1926, in Joice. Survivors include his wife, Eunice, of Belmond; one daughter, Jana Brown, of Carthage, Miss.; one son, Randy of Belmond; two brothers, Richard of Austin, Texas, and Robert of Belmond; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
