Erma Smit, 93, Belmond, died Sunday (April 20, 1997) at the Belmond Health Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Immanuel Reformed Church with the Rev. Robert Ford officiating. Burial will be in the Immanuel Reformed Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Tenold Funeral Home. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services.

Erma [Meints] Smit was born Nov. 5, 1903, in Hancock County. Survivors include one sister, Bessie Kaduce, of Belmond; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, four brothers and five sisters.
