FORT UPTON, Colo. -- Wanda Wessels, 56, formerly of Belmond and Clear Lake, died Thursday (July 24, 1997) at the Brighton Care Center, Brighton, Colo. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church, Belmond, with the Rev. Ken Fineran officiating. Burial will be in the Belmond Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of services at the church on Tuesday. Dugger Ewing Funeral Home, Belmond, is in charge of arrangements.

Wanda Wessels was born Oct. 16, 1940, in Clear Lake. Survivors include her father, Henry Pals, of Mason City; two daughters, Brenda Johnson and Lori Steerman, both of Fort Upton; one son, Steven Wessels of Fort Upton; one sister, Patty Enabnit of Iola, Kan.; four brothers, Ronald Pals of Mason City, Marvin Pals of Sheffield, Jerry Pals of Mason City, and Allen Pals of Warsaw, Mo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, in 1979; her mother; and one sister.
