Helen G. McNulty, 84, Belmond, died Saturday (Sept. 23, 1995) at the Belmond Health Care Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with the Rev. Tom Currier and deacon Nick Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. There will be a 2:30 p.m. Rosary on Tuesday by the Rosary Society and Catholic Daughters of America, and a 7 p.m. scripture service at the Tenold Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Helen G. (Luick) McNulty, the daughter of Ernest Luick and Grace (nee) Glidden Luick was born Jan. 17, 1911, in Belmond. She attended the Belmond schools and graduated in 1929. She attended Coe College and the University of Minnesota. She worked as an X-ray and laboratory technician for the state of Arizona as a mobile health associate traveling the entire state. In 1937 she accepted a position as a technician at the University Hospital in Everett, Wash., and worked there until 1940 when she returned to Belmond. She was united in marriage to Donald L. McNulty on May 29, 1940. They farmed north of Belmond until 1982 when they moved to Belmond. Helen was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church, Rosary Society, Catholic Daughters of America, Kensington Club, and the Progress Club.

She is survived by a brother, Bill Luick and his wife, June of Webster City; sisters-in-law, Marion McNulty of St. Paul, Minn., Madonna Castle of Tucson, Ariz., and Patricia Rowe and her husband, Dr. C.J. of St. Paul, Minn.; brother-in-law, Gerald McNulty and his wife, Madonna of Belmond; several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Don, and her brother, Howard.
