David R. Masiker, 61, of Hampton, died Friday, March 21, 2003, at North Iowa Mercy Health Center in Mason City. Services were held Monday, March 24, at the Church of Christ in Hampton with burial in the Sheffield Cemetery. Rev. David Nelson officiated.

David was born Aug. 15, 1941, at Clarion to Rudolph and Ida Lord Masiker. He graduated from Hampton High School and attended Hamilton Business College in Mason City where he graduated. On Oct. 14, 1962, he married Phyllis Knapp at Sheffield. He was a gas station attendant for a few years then worked as a cost accountant at REC in Hampton for over 29 years, until retiring in 1995. David was a member of the Church of Christ in Hampton. His hobbies were fishing, reading and playing with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis, of Hampton; two daughters, Sherri Fitzgerald and husband Michael of Mason City and Deborah Masiker; a son, Michael Masiker, of Waterloo; a sister, Alice Charlton, and husband Richard of Fort Smith, Ark.; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, and one brother in infancy. Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton was in charge of arrangements.
