Loretta Cozette Paulsen, 82, of Latimer died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004, at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton. Funeral services were Monday, Dec. 13, at Morgan United Methodist Church in Dows with the Rev. David Gobeli officiating. Burial followed in Morgan Township Cemetery, Dows.

Loretta was born Jan. 17, 1922, in Morgan Township to Earl and Harriett Campbell Korth. She attended country schools and graduated from Dows High School with the class of 1939. On Oct. 4, 1950, she was united in marriage with Elmer Paulsen. Loretta worked for several years at the Salvation Army in Mason City. She loved to cook and used that talent at Dudley's Corner and the Dows Care Center. Loretta also made wedding cakes for family and friends. She was a lifelong member of Morgan United Methodist Church and held offices in the women's group. She was also a member of the senior citizens in Dows and Latimer. She belonged to two card groups and enjoyed playing bingo. Loretta loved spending time with her grandchildren and baking them treats.

Survivors include three children, Paulette Beyer and husband David of Coulter, Lucretia Caplan and husband Ben of Alden, and Jorgen Paulsen and wife Toni of Forest City; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Charlotte Meyer of Wellsburg; one brother, Delvern Korth and wife Marillyn of Dows; and one sister-in-law, Doris Paulsen of Hampton. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer; and one son, Delbert. The Ewing Dugger Group and Dows Community Funeral Home were in charge of the arrangements.
