Violet Beneda Pedersen, 94, of Coulter, died March 20, 2002, at Harvard Care Center in Harvard, Ill. Services will be Saturday, March 23 at 1:30 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Hampton, with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Mary Peterson will officiate. Visitation will be from noon until service time Saturday at the church.
Violet was born Jan. 20, 1908, in rural Dows, to Andrew and Augusta Carlson Oelson. She graduated from Dows High School and Grandview College in Des Moines. On Aug. 12, 1936, she married Stanley Pedersen at the Little Brown Church at Nashua. She taught school. Violet was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Hampton.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Towne of Burlington, Wis.; a son, Larry Dean Pedersen of Anchorage, Alaska; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and brothers and sisters.
