Vera Wava Whipple, 91, of Hampton, died Jan. 7, 2001, at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton. Services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Hampton with burial in Northlawn Memory Gardens, Iowa Falls. Wilbert Trusheim will officiate.
Vera was born May 3, 1909, at Dows, to Oscar and Sarah Hamlin Davis. She was educated in country schools in Wright County. On Sept. 28, 1925, she married Gerald Whipple in Hampton. She was a homemaker and a member of the Hampton United Methodist Church.She enjoyed activities at the Hampton Senior Citizen Center and enjoyed having card parties.
She is survived by a daughter, Lenora Conrad of Gilbert; six sons, Lorenzo, Wilbur and Virgil, all of Hampton, Merle of Geneva, Verle and Roscoe, both of Dows; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 53 great-great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister; two brothers, and one granddaughter. Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home of Hampton was in charge of arrangements.
