March 11, 1925 - February 26, 2004

Glen A. Ryan, 78, of Hampton died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2004, at the Hampton Care Center in Hampton. Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 28, at 10 a.m. the Hampton United Methodist Church in Hampton with Rev. Jerry Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Hampton Cemetery, Hampton. Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 27, from 4-8 p.m. at Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton.

Glen was born March 11, 1925, at Rowan to James and Minnie (Ehler) Ryan. He received his education in the Rowan school system. On Sept. 20, 1947, Glen was united in marriage to Ardeth Cooper at Hampton. In his early years, he farmed and was employed as a truck driver. Glen was a 30-year member of the Old Timers AA and enjoyed chuck-wagon races, tractor pulls, football and being with family. He was a member of the Hampton United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one son, Ron Ryan and wife Margo of Hansell; four daughters, Linda Brower and husband Jay of Hampton, Janan Shillington of Iowa Falls, Colleen Simons and husband Steve of Hampton, and Donna Dallwitz and husband Mike of St. Louis, Mo.; a brother, Edward Ryan and wife Marge of Kanawha; a twin sister, Elsie Schroeder and husband Wilbur of Dows; two sisters, Jean Walrod and Darlene Aldrich, both of Belmond; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a grandson, Jonathan; two sisters, Ethel and Alice; and three brothers, Nudge, Toots and Bubby.
