Nancy Jane Claude, 98, of Alden, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001, at Scenic Manor Care Center in Iowa Falls. Graveside services were held Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Union Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to North Iowa Hospice or Scenic Manor Care Center.
Nancy was born July 18, 1903, at Warsaw, Mo., to Benjamin and Ellen Reed Claude [**Frank Duckworth-father according to 1910 census]. She attended Iowa Falls area schools and on March 2, 1924, she married Adolph Claude at Galt. They farmed in the Alden and Iowa Falls area. Nancy is survived by two daughters, Ina Mae Ward and husband, Vaughn, of Marshalltown, and Iva Marie Wallace of Vallejo, Calif.; a son, Keith Claude and wife, Elizabeth, of Lake Charles, La.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ada Westgate of Iowa Falls, and Edna Show of Estherville; and two brothers, Lawrence Duckworth of Raytown, Mo., and Herbert Duckworth of Kansas City, Kan. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1961; and five brothers, Everett, John, Archie, Earl and Bert Duckworth. Linn's Funeral Home in Iowa Falls, was in charge of arrangements.
