AUSTIN, Minn.-June Burnice Boyington, 97, of Austin, Minn., formerly of Popejoy, died Saturday, March 15, 2003, at Comfort Care Good Samaratin Center in Austin. Services will be held Wednesday, March 19, at 10:30 a.m. at Surls Funeral Home in Iowa Falls with burial in the Alden Cemetery. Rev. Rick Layman will officiate.

June was born June 29, 1905, in Popejoy to William and Mae Ohler Walton. She graduated from Dows High School and attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. She was a teacher in rural Alden and Oakland Township schools. She married Edward Boyington at Galena, Ill., Oct. 15, 1932. June was a member of the Popejoy Methodist Church.

She is survived by a sister, Dotha Evans, of Austin, Minn., and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Fern Walton, Otsie Trousdale and Hazel Olson; and three brothers, Faye, Glen and Seth Walton.
