DOWS-M. Mollie Bloomfield, 99, of Dows, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, at the USA Health Care Center of Dows. Funeral services will be Saturday, Dec. 30 at 11 a.m. at the Willim Funeral Home in Clarion, with Rev. Charles Kellogg of the United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Clarion.

Mary Mollie Miller was born Jan. 13, 1901, in Parnell, Mo., the daughter of Harvey and Amelia Orth Miller. She was raised and educated in the Parnell area. On Dec. 12, 1916, she was married to Wm. "Troy" Bloomfield at Grant City, Mo. The family moved to Clarion in 1938 and in 1945 to various places in Illinois, Ohio and Georgia. After her husband's death in 1964, Mollie returned to Iowa, living in the South Town Apartments in Clarion for many years. She entered the Dows Care Center five years ago. Mollie was a member of the United Methodist Church in Clarion where she was active in UMW. She loved family, flowers, gardening, and music as well as all sorts of hand work.

Survivors include a daughter, Francis Hansen of Clarion; a son, Byron and his wife, Dorothy, of Lake San Marcos, Calif., a daughter-in-law, Helen Bloomfield of Clarksville, Tenn.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant son; a son, Fay; a great-granddaughter; a great-great-granddaughter; two brothers; and three sisters.
