Della Bohms, 91, of Webster City formerly of Fort Dodge, died Tuesday, April 25, 2007 at the Hamilton Hospital in Webster City. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City. Burial will be in the North Lawn Cemetery in Fort Dodge. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday at the Gunderson Funeral Chapel and from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City. The Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements.
Della Mae Kent was born in Webster City on October 10, 1915. She attended schools there graduating with the Class of 1935. She worked in Bindery Dept of the Freeman Journal and the National Chiropractic Association in Webster City for several years and at Kresge’s in Fort Dodge. She married Rudolph Bohms on June 4, 1949 in Webster City and made their home in Webster City for the next several years. In 1962, they moved to Fort Dodge which has been their home since. Her husband passed away on December 12, 1998. For the past six years, she has made her home at Crestview in Webster City.
She is survived by her son Merlyn Tungesvik and friend, Norma Beecher of Webster City and a daughter, Carolyn (Bill) Sherman-Lockett of Goldfield, IA; five grandchildren, Darin (Susan) Sherman of Ames, IA, Linda (Wade) Schnittjer of Clarion, IA, Keith Sherman of Clarion, IA, Mark Tungesvik of Jefferson City, MO, and David Tungesvik in Alaska; 13 Great Grandchildren; and a sister, Minnie Hanson of Ames, IA. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Bohms; her parents, William and Gertie (Williamson) Kent; her nine brothers and sisters, Melvin Kent, Charles Kent, Nellie Scott, Austin Kent, William Kent, Pearl Boswell, Fern Pierson, James Kent, and Eldon Kent.
