A memorial service was held on Monday, August 26, 2002, for Bernard "Bernie" Wessels, 65, of Sunset, Washington. He died on Saturday, August 17, 2002, at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane following a heart attack. Bernie was preceded in death by his father, Luke; and two brothers, LuVerne and Kenny. Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Donna Wessels of Sunset, Washington; two sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Maryann Roths of Dallas, Texas and Mike and Shari Roths of Sunset, Washington; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lea and Gaylon Hergert and Lisa and Tim Blumenshein, both of St. John, Washington.
