Mrs. Norma Gayle Newcomb Ringer, age 87, of Davidson, formerly of Wilmington, died Tuesday April 3, 2007, at her residence. Born November 27, 1919, in Eagle Grove, Iowa, she was a daughter of the late Edwin Newcomb and Edna Wood Newcomb. She was employed at New Hanover Regional Medical Center for numerous years as registered nurse for numerous years, a member of the auxiliary and homemaker. Memorial services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, April 7, at the Living Room at the Pines in Davidson, N.C. The family will receive friends following.

Survivors are her sons, David P. Ringer and wife Mary of Atlanta, Ga., Robert E. Ringer and wife Vivian of Davidson, Donald M. Ringer and wife Kathy of Granbury, Texas; daughters, Patricia R. Hardy and husband Joseph of Harrisburg, Pa., Margaret R. Hendrix of Wilmington, N.C.; brother, Donald Newcomb of Eagle Grove, Iowa; sister, Dorothy Helgevold of Huntington Beach, Ca.; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Paul H. Ringer, son-in-law, Roger T. Hendrix and brother, Monroe Newcomb.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer society, 6000 Fairview Road, Suite 200, Charlotte, N.C. 28210 or the Alzheimers Disease Association, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, N.C. 28215. Arrangements by Raymer Funeral Home Huntersville, N.C.
