Jon K. Mehus, 67, died April 14, 2007 at Genesis West in Davenport. Funeral services were held April 17 at Runge Mortuary Chapel with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery. Jon was born January 24, 1940 in Belmond, the son of Torkel and Olina (Nelson) Mehus. On October 8, 1971 he married Mary Young in Rock Island, IL. Jon had been employed by Oscar Mayer for 16 years, retiring in 1978. He attended Dewitt Evangelical Free Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing in earlier years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Nellie Just; and a brother Donald Mehus. Survivors include his wife; sons and daughters-in-law Kenneth (Lois) Mehus, Michael (Lynnie) Mehus, Timothy (Jaime) Mehus and Thomas (Sherrie) Mehus; stepson and wife Richard (Julie) Young; 11 grandchildren; sisters Mildred Lonnevik, Nettie Kimball, Joann Olson and Pearl Moundy.
