James "Jim" Anderson, 68, of Vincent, Iowa passed away Monday (Jan. 27, 2003) at his residence in Vincent. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at South Enes Lutheran Church in Vincent with Rev. Susan Stone officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Bruce's Funeral Home in Fort Dodge. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.

Jim, the son of Amos and Gurena (Warland) Anderson, was born March 12, 1934, in rural Fort Dodge. In 1937, he moved with his family to a farm near Vincent. He attended Vincent Schools, graduating from Eagle Grove High School. After his schooling, he entered the United States Army and was stationed in Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1958. In 1960, Jim was united in marriage to Donna Lovik at Winnebago Lutheran Church near Lake Mills. They lived in the Thor area for several years, later moving to Vincent in 1984. Jim was employed at NEW Co-op in Vincent and retired in 1995. He enjoyed spending time with his family, woodworking and carving.

Jim is survived by his wife, Donna, of Vincent; sons, Dennis, of Aurora, Colo., and Gary and his wife, Carol, of Mason City; brother, Alvin and his wife, Gloria, of Eagle Grove, and sisters, Maxine Michelson, of Edina, Minn., and Gertrude Anderson of Excelsior, Minn., and Marvyl and her husband, Jalmer Eldal, of Brandon, S.D. Preceding him in death were his parents and an infant brother, Mervin.
