Jeanette T. Perkins, age 99, of Clarksville, Iowa, was born the daughter of John and Hiekelina (Stoppelmoor) Krull on August 26, 1903, in rural Butler County, near Austinville, Iowa. She received her education in a rural country school near her home. In 1924 Jeanette Krull was united in marriage with Walter Perkins. They made their home in Fort Dodge, Iowa and through the years they also lived in Eagle Grove, Iowa and then moved to Clarksville while Walter was working with the railroad. Jeanette was a loving wife and mother and she had several local domestic jobs. Walter died in 1962. On February 18, 1984, Jeanette was married to Don Davis in Des Moines, Iowa. Jeanette was a member of the Community United Methodist Church in Clarksville. She was a member of card club, the Rebecca Lodge and Order of the Eastern Star, all of which she held most of the offices. She also was active in numerous other community organizations and activities. Jeanette died on Thursday, July 17, 2003, at the Community Nursing Home in Clarksville of natural causes.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Walter Perkins in 1962, and Don Davis in 2000; two sons, Richard in infancy and Wallace Perkins in 1986; five brothers, Albert, Henry, Siebert, Rudolph and Ayelt Krull; and one sister, Tillie Merril. Jeanette is survived by a daughter-in-law, Lillian Perkins of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; three grandchildren, Kelly Perkins, Cedar Rapids; Holly Niehaus, Oakridge, Tennessee and Tracy Perkins, Arlington Heights, Illinois; four great-grandchildren; one brother, John Krull of Clarksville; and two sisters, Diane Patton and Lila Perkins both of Clarksville. Funeral Services were held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, July 20, 2003, at Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home, Clarksville, Iowa with Pastor Allen Poore-Christensen officiating. Organist Lola Clark accompanied soloists Pastor Allen Poore-Christensen who sang “Hymn of Promise” and Betty Whitney who sang “In The Garden.” Inurnment at a later date in Lynwood Cemetery, Clarksville, Iowa. Instead of flowers, the family requests visits be made to those in nursing homes. Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
