Mr. John Warren Myers, 80, of S. Rockingham Road, [Greensboro, North Carolina] died Thursday, February 1, 2007, at Moses Cone Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday February 3, at Hinshaw United Methodist Church. The Rev. Bart Millison will officiate.

John was born April 19, 1926, in Rowan, Iowa to the late Cecil Myers who was a World War I Veteran and the late Myrtle Azeltine Myers. He was the owner of Greensboro Metal Parts. A veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II, and a lifetime member of the VFW in Greensboro. He was a member of Hinshaw United Methodist Church, the Y's Men, Kiwanis Club, president of the Chamber of Commerce, a member of Toastmasters, and president of Washington Country Club.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Myers. Survivors include his wife, Beverly Terveer Myers; two sons, David Myers and wife, Diana of Fort Mill, S.C., Mark Myers and wife, Cindy of Greensboro; two daughters, Rebekah Myers and husband, Brooks Smoot of Greensboro and Deborah Erwin and husband, Steve of Bradenton, Florida; brother, William Myers of Belmond, Iowa; sister, Ella Jean Pearson of Des Moines, Iowa; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends following the service at Sedgefield Country Club. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Hospice-Moses Cone 1200 N. Elm St., Greensboro N.C., 27401, or Hinshaw United Methodist Church at 4501 High Point Road, Greensboro N.C., 27407. Forbis & Dick N. Elm is serving the Myers family.
