EAGLE GROVE — Viola M. (Trulock) Beckley, was born June 22, 1909, in Hendricks, Minnesota, where she was raised and educated. In 1925, Viola married Walter Beckley and to this union eight children were born. Viola worked as a Practical Nurse at the State Sanitarium in Ah Gwah Ching, MN for several years. After moving to Iowa, she attended Bernel Beauty College in Fort Dodge, where she operated a Beauty Shop. Viola was a very active member of the Assembly of God Church. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting and making many keepsakes for her kids and grandchildren. Viola loved having her grandchildren around her. Viola passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2007, at the Rotary Ann Nursing Home in Eagle Grove at the age 97 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter; son, Waine of Minnesota, infant son, David; daughter, Lois Yetley of Big Lake, Minnesota; brother, Loren and sisters, Audrey and Alta. Viola is survived by her sons: Gordon Beckley and wife Ardyth of Phoenix, AZ, Donald Beckley and wife Marie of Colorado Springs, CO, Curtis Beckley and wife Marlene of Coalville; daughters: Janicerae Hillmann of Fort Dodge and Judy Peterson and husband John of Galena, MO; 17 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great- grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 27, 2007, 10:30 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Eagle Grove with Pastors Scott Clarke and Del Yetley officiating. Visitation will be today, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Foust Funeral Home, Eagle Grove. Burial will be at North Lawn Cemetery in Fort Dodge. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
