Jane Prawit, 96, of Belmond, formerly of the Omaha area, died on Saturday, November 2, 2002, at the Belmond Health Care Center. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, November 6, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Belmond, with the Rev. Rod Hopp officiating.

Jane Roberts, was born on September 17, 1906 at Omaha, the daughter of Hal and Janet (Marriott) Roberts. She was united in marriage to C. Donald Prawit on December 20, 1925 at Bloomfield, New Jersey. They lived in Bloomfield, East Orange, New Jersey and Randolph, Nebraska before making their home in Omaha for many years. She was a homemaker and had been employed in the advertising department at the Omaha World Herald, the personnel department of the Nebraska Methodist Hospital, and was a real estate agent for various firms in the Omaha area. Jane moved to Belmond in 1997 and lived at the retirement center until becoming a resident of the Belmond Health Care Center in December of 1998. At the care center she participated in the Trinity Lutheran Church services.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; and two daughters, Ruth Popischil and Janet Chapman. Survivors are her daughter, Patricia (Nick) Schmit of Belmond; 17 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
