Rex L. Steffens, 88, died on Friday, November 1, 2002, at the Churchill Hospital near Fallon, Nevada. Funeral services were held on Monday, November 4, at the Epworth United Methodist Church, with burial in the Churchill Cemetery.

Rex Larwell, was born on October 3, 1914 in Rowan, the son of Clifford and Lanora Steffens. He was a veteran of WW II and a bridge supervisor for the Iowa DOT. He was a member of the Rowan VFW and Legion. He and his wife, Loretta, had been residents of Fallon since 1981. Preceding him in death was his sister, Lois Hall. Survivors include his wife of 66 years; daughters, Phyllis (John) Serpa of Fallon and Connie (Bob) Berns of Belmond; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
