GOLDFIELD — Tyrus O. Klinger, 80, died Tuesday (Dec. 8, 1998) at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Ellen G. Brantley officiating. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Willim Funeral Home, Eagle Grove.
Tyrus O. Klinger was born July 25, 1918, in Burnside. Survivors include three daughters, Kathryn Dorr of Iowa Falls, Loralee Torkelson of Waterloo, and Linda Bellmore of Tecumseh, Mich.; one grandson; and two sisters, Frances Evans of Eagle Grove, and Majel Boring of Novinger, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one sister.

Tyrus Olen Klinger was born on July 25, 1918, in Burnside, Iowa, to Olen W. and Viola Manchester Klinger, At the age of nine, he moved with his family to farm east of Goldfield, Iowa, where he was educated and graduated from Goldfield High School in 1936. He continued to farm east of Goldfield until 1963, when he then moved north of town to farm until bis retirement in 1980. He was united in marriage with Margaret Nelson on May 9, 1941, in Goldfield. She died on September 24, 1993. He was a longtime member of the United Presbyterian Church in Goldfield, served on the Co-op Board, and was director at the Goldfield Creamery. He played basketball in high school and continued to play in the City Leagues.
Tyrus O. Klinger died on Tuesday, December 8, 1998, at his home in Goldfield at the age of 80. Survivors include three daughters, Kathryn Dorr, and husband, Leo J., Iowa Falls, Iowa, Loralee Torkelson, and husband, Russell, Waterloo, Iowa, and Linda Bellmore, and husband, William, Tecumseh, Mich.; one grandson; and two sisters, Frances Evans, and husband, Fred, Eagle Grove, and Majel Boring, Novinger, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret; and one sister, Iola Akin.
Funeral services were held Friday, December 1998. at 10 a.m. at the United Presbyterian Church at Goldfield with Reverend Ellen G. Brantley officiating. Burial was held in the Glenwood Cemetery in Goldfield. Willim Funeral Home of Eagle Grove was in charge of the arrangements.
