Warren D. Thompson, 81, of Belmond, died Wednesday (Jan. 6, 1999) at the Rotary Ann Home, Eagle Grove. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. John Lutheran Church, Belmond, with the Rev. Lowell Halvorson officiating. Burial will be in the Belmond Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Tenold Funeral Home, Belmond, and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church.

Warren was born on Nov. 13, 1917, in Manilla. Survivors include four daughters, Kristine Paladino, of Sterling, Ill., Susan Waxler, of Beloit, Wis., Lora Thompson, of Waterloo, and Leslie Thayer, of Clarion; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one sister, Harriet Eng, of Mason City. Warren was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two brothers.
