Elizabeth M. Gill Dorr, 105, formerly of the Belmond area, died Wednesday (April 16, 1997) in Mercer Island, Wash. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Monica Catholic Church, Mercer Island, Wash. Green Funeral Home, Bellevue, Wash., handling arrangements in Washington. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, at Dugger-Ewing Funeral Home, 607 First St. N.E., Belmond. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Cemetery, Belmond, with Father John Paisley officiating. Dugger-Ewing Funeral Home, Belmond, is in charge of arrangements.

Elizabeth M. Gill Dorr was born Feb. 20, 1892, in Delaware County, to Michael Gill and Emma Patton Gill. She was educated in rural schools. She married Lawrence Dorr of Belmond on Dec. 29, 1908, at St. Francis church. They lived several years in and around Belmond and Rowan. They later moved to a farm near Lake Cornelia. After several years, they moved to Waterloo where they operated an apartment house for several years. In 1964, they moved to Cresco, to be near their daughter and son-in-law, Mary Jean and Dr. Peter Kepros. Elizabeth spent the last 8 years of her life living with her daughter, Pauline F. Colter of Mercer Island, Wash. Elizabeth was the mother of six children. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Gray of Eagle Grove, and Mrs. Pauline Colter of Mercer Island, Wash.; 26 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren; and 56 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and four of her children.
