MRS. GREENFIELD DIES IN DENVER; RITES HELD HERE

Mrs. Esther E. Greenfield of Denver, who resided in Holyoke for many years, passed away Sunday, January 17, at St. Joseph's hospital in Denver. She was 80 years of age and had been in poor health for some time. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. yesterday, January 20, at the Lewis Funeral Chapel here and interment was at Holyoke Memorial Park. Officiating minister was Rev. Roland Reed of the Holyoke Baptist church, Arrangements were in charge of the Lewis Funeral Home.

As Esther Elizabeth Kelly, Mrs. Greenfield was born June 29, 1884, in Iowa. She spent her childhood in that state and was married to Menno Greenfield at Belmond, Iowa, in 1901. Mr. and Mrs. Greenfield and their family moved to Holyoke in 1930, and Mrs. Greenfield continued to reside here for several years after the death of her husband in 1945. Her home in Denver was at 5683 West 41st Avenue. Mrs. Greenfield was a member of the Holyoke Presbyterian church and the Royal Neighbors of America. She was a past Oracle of the Holyoke RNA chapter.

Survivors include one son, Alvin Greenfield, Gunnison; four daughters, Mae, Mrs. George Wiebold, Marengo, Iowa, Alma, Mrs. Robert J. Ralston, Laguna Beach, California, Esther, Mrs. Curtis E. Burson, Denver, and Lucille, Mrs. Daryl Cook, Arvada; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Preceding her in death besides her husband was one son, who died in infancy. Mrs. Greenfield's five children were here for the funeral.
