Richard Paul Yungclas, 61, of Ames died of a heart ailment Thursday at home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames, with burial at Ames Municipal Cemetery. Mr. Yungclas was born in Renwick and had lived in Ames 32 years. He had worked for the Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad and was a deputy sheriff with Eagle Grove and a lineman with the city of Ames before retiring. He was a master model railroader and a member of the Kate Shelley Bridge group, Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad and the National Model Railroad Association. He enjoyed history, movies and model railroading.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret three sons, Allen of Ames, Kevin of Boone and John of San Diego a daughter, Julie Misenheimer of Cardiff, Calif. a brother, James Jr. of Goldfield, a sister, Joanna Mericle of Worthington, Minn. seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the time of services Monday at the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Model Railroad Association.
