Irene S. Sarber, 90, of Mount Vernon, formerly of Lisbon and Belmond, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, in Hallmark Care and Rehabilitation Center, Mount Vernon, after a brief illness. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at Morgan Funeral and Cremation Choices, Mount Vernon Chapel. A private family burial will be at a later date in Fort Dodge.Surviving Irene is her sister, Jo Lowenberg of Mount Vernon; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial fund has been established for the Hallmark Care and Rehabilitation Center, c/o Morgan Funeral Home, 715 10th Ave. SW, Mount Vernon, IA 52314.

Irene S. Sarber, 90, Mount Vernon (formerly of Belmond) died January 5, 2007 after a brief illness. A private family burial will be at a later date in Fort Dodge. Irene was born September 15, 1916 in Woolstock, the daughter of Henry and Martha Schutt Mourlam. She married DeWitt Sarber in 1947. Irene worked in maintenance at Cornell College in Mount Vernon from 1969 to 1994. Preceding her in death were her husband, four sisters and four brothers. Survivors include her sister Jo Lowenberg of Mount Vernon.
