Douglas Arlo Mosher, the son of Neut and Ione (Haaland) Pohlman, was born September 15, 1944, in Fertile, Minnesota. He was raised and educated in Eagle Grove. On September 1, 1967, Doug married Carolyn Elwood at the Samuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove. They lived in Eagle Grove until 1968 when they moved to Huxley. Doug moved to Algona in 1971 and then to Des Moines, where he currently resided. Doug worked for Chicago Northwestern Railroad, drove for Umthun Trucking, Algona Municipal Utilities for 13 years he owned and operated Doug's Printing Service in Algona until a fire destroyed the business, and the Windsor Heights Presbyterian Church in maintenance. He attended Alcoholics Anonymous in Algona. Doug was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Algona and was attending the Windsor Heights Presbyterian Church in Des Moines. Doug enjoyed fishing, playing cards and attending bible study group.

Doug passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2006, in Des Moines due to injuries received from an automobile accident, at the age of 62 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Neut Pohlman; son Scott Mosher and brother, Larry Dean Mosher.
Survivors include his sons, Brian Mosher of Algona and Cory Mosher of Des Moines; Carolyn Mosher of Algona; mother, Ione Knack of Eagle Grove; sisters Kathy Williams and husband Gary of Eagle Grove and Karen Porter and husband Francis of Newton; brothers Jack Mosher of Eagle Grove and Michael Mosher of California and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 4, 2006, 11 a.m. at Samuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove with Pastors Stan Peterson and Fred Lehman officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be in Lake Lutheran Cemetery rural Renwick. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
